Card of Thanks

Had to make a card today to go with a project. So I thought I'd share it with you, since I've been rather bad about blogging lately.

This was really fun, the Maya Road chipboard is so cute, isn't it? Stamped a couple of Heidi Swapp flowers, used a Prima flower, a piece of Fancy Pants chipboard, and added a bit of Distress Ink....I know you're shocked. Stamped a phrase from Cloud9, put a touch of ink to the button brad....and layered it up. Done! The paper is from Memory Box...I LOVE this new stuff in 6x6 pieces in a package with 10 patterns!

Do something good today!

More Charms for the Bracelet

They are addictive! I just keep adding more charms to this pile of metal. I got some game spinners of Tim's the other day....Idea-ology....when I taught my class at Scrapbook Friend'z. I owe Susan a big hug for seeing them...I'd completely missed them!!!

Anyway, I had to work them into the bracelet, so after a few bad design ideas, this is how they turned out! SOOOOO much fun! I love wire, and beads, and buttons!

Lunch today with the Watercolor Chicks!

Have a fun day!

Checking in!

Adding a picture here to entice you with more metal from Ten Seconds Studio. We're going to use a softer, easier version in Sept. at For Keeps Sake. So....Be There! You will love it.

Sorry for not posting very much lately. I'm up to my eyeballs in projects. Like I told Wendy....be careful what you ask for.....it may kill you!

Be Well and go Create something!

Holy Moly!

OMG! I won all the Perfect Pearls on t!m's blog!!! I've always looked at them and never bought them. Had to have all the Pearl Ex powders, but not the PP! And these are sooo much easier to work with. Thanks Scrapthat for letting me know. Will post some pics of messing with them.

WOW, what a PERFECT prize for me!

Have a CREATIVE day!

Missing in Action

I really haven't forgotten how to blog, but life has been a bit hectic here lately. Seems the DH hurt his back and we've been going for x-rays and chiro visits, then all the other back to the surgeon for the revisit. Blah, blah, blah.....Storms and patching the son's brand new pool after the high winds flipped his trampoline on top of if.....5000 gallons of water standing there without the ring of air that's supposed to hold it up!!!!! SCARY!!!

Everyday life in the Midwest during the summer!!! You gotta love it!

So, here's a bit of a house book from Maya Road that's going to be in the class. Don't you just love that cute paper! But the white pen marks really made it soooo much brighter. And you don't have to be able to make a perfect circle, it looks better when you don't. HA!

Good news on the journals....they've sold 6 of 8. Not bad for a beginner. I really would like to go up there to Galena and shop for the day. But the Mississippi is not being very kind to the river communities. Mud is running through my SIL garage in Rapids City. And the kids in Moline had a river running under the basement door and down the steps to their garage....nothing compared to Keithsburg, Burlington, or Cedar Rapids, but not any fun either.

That's all for tonight. As Tigger would say....TTFN.....Ta Ta For Now!

Fun Day!

Erin wanted to create an art project. And here it is!!!! Erin's House! All designed by her!
She had a blast painting, gluing, and especially adding the rhinestones...a girl does need a little glitz.

My son and his wife are in the Bahamas for their 10th anniversary. The 4 grandparents are trying to keep the 2 girls busy enough to not miss mom and dad....it's a combined effort of their Aunt and Uncle, too!!!

After the trip was booked, Erin's recital for baton and pom poms got scheduled...she was a bit sad.
BUT, the 2 grandmas tried to rise to the occasion and attend. And here she is! One grandpa took her to rehearsal to see her show, and the other one stayed with the "Emster." Boy would I like to have all the $$ spent on all the costumes for studio supplies!!!!

10th Anniversary Card

Fooling around with some more 36g metal. My son and his wife are celebrating their 10th anniversary this week so I put this together with the Bind-It-All and some embossed metal from Ten Seconds Studio. I added some Rust alcohol inks to give the aluminum a different bit of color and then sanded the top color off for contrast. The numbers are dotted Grungeboard with added Distress Inks and penwork. Added some ribbons and it's a done deal!

MORE METAL

Played with more metal last night. Late into the night. Had to watch the weather as I AM the storm watcher for the family!!! They know they can go to bed and sleep without worry because I WILL be up making sure no one gets caught unaware!!! Yep, that's my job. Night Protector of the Storms....

Anyway, I painted 3 wooded letters with metallic acrylic paints by Plaid. Then I traced the letters onto 36g aluminum metal from Ten Seconds Studio. Emboss and deboss with tools. Attach the heavy duty adhesive to the back, and THEN cut out the letter. Very important tip there, it works best that way. Peel off the backing and lay the letter on top, carefully placing evenly around the edges. Burnish the edges with a wooden skewer or bone folder.

You can buy Ten Seconds Studio metal and tools online here.

And it's done!!! Place in a prominent place in your home or studio, or give it to a budding artist as a gift!

Sneak Peek Hint

OK, as much as I HATE surprises and sneak peeks....here's a hint. It's Maya Road, it's Ten Seconds Studio Metal, and it's gonna be fun!!!!!

This is what's in store for you girls, and I did have one guy...a very talented guy I might add...in one of my classes in St. Louis at For Keeps Sake.

For those of you who have asked, we are tentatively on for Sept. 6 and 7th. Haven't decided what times or the classes yet. But this is one I've worked with Cheryl at TSS on to get the supplies for, so I hope you people there like the looks of it! Once you've seen how easy this stuff is to work with, and how professional it will make you look in a short period of time, you'll be HOOKED...as I was.

Garden Beauty Darkroom Interview!!!!

OK, I'm going to bore you with another picture of what's keeping me out of my studio until it gets too hot, and I have to retreat to the indoors. This is my pink Columbine and it was lovin' the cool and rainy weather this spring. Kind of a cute little something behind it!

Breaking News from the Darkroom Door!
Just got and email from Rachel Greig that my interview is up on her blog!!! Take a look...you've seen some of the projects I designed with her wonderful stamps and papers. They are fantastic to work with!
